Lithuania v Scotland - 7.15pm

The friendlies are over and now Craig Levein gets a first taste of competitive football at International level as Scotland open their Euro 2012 campaign away to Lithuania. And Levein looks set to go for tried and tested players such as Paul Hartley and David Weir, who have been recalled, plus Kenny Miller and James McFadden. The experiments appear to be over after the disastrous trip to Sweden and now hopefully we can get off to a flyer with three points.

ALBA Cup

It is the quarter final stage of the Alba Cup this weekend with three games on Saturday and the remaining one on Sunday. This competition hasn't been a great one for punters so far with plenty of shocks but there is every chance all three favourites can win on Saturday. Partick and Queen of the South should be too strong for Ayr United and East Fife whilst Ross County look a cracking bet at 4/5 to beat Forfar. The treble pays just over 7/2.

Euro 2012 Qualifiers

As well as Scotland's vital qualifier away to Lithuania, there are numerous other matches as the sides get underway in Euro 2012. England, woeful in the World Cup, face Bulgaria at home and are long odds on. The Republic of Ireland are 4/6 for their trip to Armenia, while Wales face a tougher journey away to Montenegro, where they are 3/1 outsiders. Nothern Ireland are the biggest-proced of the home nations at 9/2 for their away game with Slovenia.

Ryder Cup

Colin Montgomerie has named his wild card picks for the Ryder Cup with Harrington and Donald joined by the Johnnie Walker winner, Edoardo Molinari. It looks a very strong team and it is no surprise to see Europe as the 8/11 favourite. The Americans can be backed at 7/5.

Big Al The Punter's Pal

Big Al - icon

There was a gamble at Hereford this week but rather than give them a pat on the back, Big Al is furious. Not because he wasn't involved but because it stank the place out. A bit like John McCormack and his treatment of the female physio at Hamilton. To find out why click here.
